Lucknow (The Hawk): It was discovered that a call centre worker from Kanpur had committed himself by hanging in a hotel room in the Naka Hindola neighbourhood.
The alleged suicide note stated that the man's body should be sent to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) rather than to his family.
Ashish Kumar, 28 years old, had checked into the hotel on Monday evening.
There was concern when he didn't emerge from his room for nearly 24 hours, so hotel personnel knocked on the door.
They looked out a window and saw him hanging there. The workers immediately called the police.
Cops officer Brijesh Dwivedi of the Naka station said, "The police forced inside and took the body for an examination. Kumar's body was found on the floor next to the bed, and the evidence pointed to him having pushed the bed to one side and climbed a chair before tying himself up with the bedsheet as a noose and hanging himself from the ceiling fan."
"An autopsy determined that asphyxiation from hanging was the cause of death. The note was written by Kumar, according to his father. The note said that he died of natural causes and that his remains should not be given to his family but instead given to the SGPGI "Then he made an addition.
Police officials have stated that they will continue investigating the suicide to determine why the deceased man would not permit his remains to be returned to his family.
